2010 Manpower Symposium and Leadership Development Programs

This presentation continues the discussion from the Symposium with an update of 2010 manpower projections and an update the leadership development programs.

Section 1: Update of Supervisory Training Program (STP) and Site Safety Superintendent Certification
Gary Greiner (Valparaiso University), T. J. Ferrantella (Engineered Constructors, Inc.), Dr. Daphene Koch (Purdue University).
Updates of the current programs and participates, plus planning for future dates for training and Measuring the Success with STP. Everyone always ask if training works. Dr Daphene Koch has facilitated STP for several years and has DATA to support that there are positive improvements in employees taking the STP courses. Statistics and methods will be revealed as to how STP can add to your organizations success.
Section 2: College Credit for STP and Site Safety Training Certificate Program Bill Thon (IVY Tech)
IVY Tech Community College has authorized college credit to be given to participants who are interested in having their STP and Site Safety Supervisor training classes applied to degree programs at IVY Tech.
Section 3: Indiana Commission on Rehabilitation Services
Ross Pangere is a member of the Commission that is the advisory board for Indiana’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services, which serves thousands of citizens with disabilities each year through vocational rehabilitation, employment, education and independent living in the community. Speakers from the Commission will present this program.
Section 4: Presentation on Generations at Work. Desila Rosetti (Organizational Development Solutions)
Generations at Work provides you with the training you need to manage and work with members from various generations.
Generations at Work is a training program that identifies the four generations of workers who are side-by-side in the workplace for the first time in history. This program will help you manage and work with Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation Xers and Millennials.
During this presentation you’ll learn how to:
- Identify characteristics of the four generations in the workforce
- Discuss each generation’s unique contributions and areas for growth\
- Diagnose workplace issues from a generational perspective
- Identify potential generational conflicts and help prevent them
- Use motivation and retention tips specific to the different generations
